Aaron Wakeley Trainee Contracts Manager joined the company in November 2006:
Through collaboration with Progressive Systems, Aaron has been able to fully realise his vocational potential and turn his education into practice. His enjoyment of the first year of his course and work with us has enabled him to integrate fully into the world of construction. This has included meeting other trainees across the industry, including Main Contractors and Architects, giving him appreciation of different aspects cross-industry.Aaron is very much looking forward to starting the second year of his BTEC National Certificate and also, in the longer term, embarking on the next level of education, the Higher National Certificate in Construction.
Chris Philips Trainee Estimator joined the company in November 2005.Chris’ motivation is based in his continuing drive to better himself; this is perpetuated by his interest and pursuit of more in-depth knowledge in the construction industry. Through his work with Progressive Systems Chris has gained insight into a specific field of expertise and has thoroughly enjoyed the area of Estimating. This has led him to already specifying a keen interest within the area of Quantity Surveying and, through his enrolment on to the HNC in construction, he hopes to gain further insight in the field.
Cycle 2 Work
Progressive Systems is going green, with the dedication of our Andy Smith (shown on his new bike in the picture) he has introduced 6 of our staff to the Halfords pioneered Cycle2Work scheme in the UK.
Taking advantage of new legislation enacted in the Income Tax (Earnings and Pensions) Act 2003, an employer is able to provide a bicycle and bicycle safety equipment to employees to be mainly used to Cycle2Work. Halfords developed the mechanism for the legislation to be become operative and now provides the UK’s largest compliant cycle2work scheme to over 300 blue chip organisations.

Progressive Systems has secured its latest ASDA store to be build in Cardiff, on the back of successful stores in Newton Abbot, Highbridge and Bideford. The latest store is for the Pearce Group and features 93m long Euroseam roof sheets.

Progressive Systems Ltd supplied and installed the fabrications for Regent House, Plymouth. The new 3.25 million development, which is home to offices of the South Devon Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, won the Best Commercial New Build from Local Authority Building Control (LABC) in the South West. It has now been selected by the LABC as an entrant for the National Built in Quality Awards. Congratualtions to all those involved in the project.

Volunteers at Progressive Systems have signed up to take part in the Royal Marines Commando Challenge on Sunday 14th October. The seven mile event (two miles on road, three miles obstacle and another two miles on road) is a sponsored charity event in order to raise money for the Gemini FM Charitable Trust. The brave volunteers from Progressive make up two teams. The first team has been named 'Useless Tribe' and is comprised of Martin Tribe, James Rayner, Chris Phillips and Steve Kerswell and the second named 'Older Bud-Weiser' features Andy Bassett, Simon Quantick, Sean Wills and James Edmonds. We wish the boys the best of luck with their enduring challenge and hope that they raise a substantial amount of money for such a worthy cause. Corus have named Progressive Systems Ltd Colorcoat Contractor of the Year 2007. Roger Fox, Technical Director (pictured below) accepted the award which was received at the Colorcoat Contractors' Day in Chester on June 12th. We are delighted to receive the award in recognition of the company receiving the most Confidex Guarantee project registrations in 2006, with 81.

These latest additions compliment Progressive Systems highly successful completed Mercedes showroom contracts in Exeter, Taunton, Plymouth, Bridgend, Swansea, Winchester, Chichester and Southampton. Coming to a site near you is a new panel repair service offered by the progressive team. The service is available from the 19th February 2007 and aims to offer an on site rennovation facility for damaged panels.

Progressive Systems Ltd have been shortlisted for the NFRC Roofing Awards 2007. The project Exeter Rugby Club has been selected as a finalist in the Vertical Cladding Category. The winner of this category is due to be announced on 18th May 2007. Best of luck to all the team who were involved in the project.

Progressive Systems has been awarded the contract to construct the new rugby stadium for the Exeter Chiefs. The project will begin in February 2006 working for the main contractors Dean & Dyball.
